Research suggests that students with explicit SEL instruction perform better in school, better on tests, and have fewer behavioral incidents. While educators are aware of the benefits of SEL, time and budgetary constraints as well as lack of training and support make it hard to implement day to day. ONEder’s Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum is here to change that!
Our SEL Curriculum was designed for all students at the high school grade level. The online components of this course empower students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to choose their accommodations, and Translation is enabled for English language learners. Course content was written at the 700 Lexile level, and was designed to be used as a foundation that educators can easily differentiate using the suggestions from the Teacher Guide. The combination of ONEder Academy’s online learning coupled with course-specific differentiation strategies enables educators to meet the unique needs of all their students.
Studies show that social-emotional learning helps students in a number of ways. According to the National Education Association, SEL helps students to, “achieve better academic performance, improve [their] attitudes and behaviors, decrease negative behavior, and reduce emotional stress.”
All five courses are aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Texas Essential Knowledge Skills (TEKS). ONEder Academy’s SEL Curriculum was informed by several evidence-based best practices.
